TaskLocal platform fees relate to marketplace and booking services provided through the TaskLocal Platform. They are separate from payment for the actual work performed by a Professional.
If the selected Professional does not complete the required confirmation or payment within the permitted period, TaskLocal may cancel the pending booking and reopen the job.
Where the Customer has already paid a TaskLocal platform fee for that booking, TaskLocal will refund that fee unless applicable law permits otherwise and there is a legitimate reason for retaining any amount.
Where a Professional cancels or refuses to proceed with a confirmed booking, TaskLocal will normally refund the Customer's applicable platform fee.
Where a Customer cancels, TaskLocal will consider the circumstances and any Platform services already supplied when determining whether all or part of a platform fee is refundable.
TaskLocal will not impose or retain a cancellation charge where doing so would be contrary to applicable consumer law.
Where the Customer and Professional agree not to proceed, TaskLocal will consider the circumstances and Platform services already supplied when determining whether a platform fee is refundable.
If a user has been incorrectly charged because of a TaskLocal or payment-processing error, TaskLocal will investigate and provide an appropriate correction or refund where required.
TaskLocal may provide a full or partial refund where reasonably appropriate because of exceptional circumstances, suspected fraud, technical failure or another significant problem affecting the transaction.
If you disagree with a TaskLocal cancellation or refund decision, contact us at noreply@tasklocal.co.uk or use our Report a problem form.
Nothing in this policy excludes or restricts statutory consumer rights. Where applicable law provides mandatory cancellation, refund or other rights, those rights take priority.
